I would like to know whether there are any softwares with which i can set a password to my USB drive or a part of it(would like to know how to partition in that case). I want something like the way u need a password 4 WinXP to access the PC i.e. on opening the volume i should be prompted to enter the password. Please tell me those that are free.

I think the easiest way to get password protection for your data without losing any space from your Flash Drive is to use password protected archives, with the file names encrypted, so that no one can see even the file names. 7-Zip is the perfect choice to create such archives, and also has a protable version, if I recall it well...
