Which First? Hard Drive, Memory(RAM) or Vista?
Answers:
you should install your RAM stick first then install your hard drive and transfer everything to it...
Why?
because your PC will be able to perform at a faster rate with a new stick in there
and then install Vista because Vista is a damn component hogger you gotta have the best of the best to perform it
i have a b120 laptop (our laptops brothers lol) and my laptop is isn't that fast cause of 256mb RAM but my pc is loaded with good components and running Vista Ultimate quite fine
It should be RAM then Hard drive. Dont install any Vista if you dont have to but I guess at this point you might as well because you already have the basic one so put on the premium one, but in that order.
First you should definitely install your new hard drive; trasnfer the contents for your 40 to the 80g. Then install the memory, that shouldnt be a problem, it works effectively after you already have it on.
ok you can piggy back your 40 gig hard drive for storage or make your 80 gig your storage hard drive vista is a 15 gig file though so thats something to think about as well
and you can install the ram at anytime while you have the cabinet open installing the hard drive
then after that install the vista
It doesn't matter. Any new hardware will be detected by either operating system.
If I were you, shut off the computer, install the HDD and RAM, boot it up to make sure it works, and then install the new Vista.
Install the hardware first then install vista.
RAM
The hard drive or ram first and Vista last. If you want to install ram last make sure the ram you have will run Premium.
