Anyone know of a good "analogue adaptor" for use with Adobe Premier Pro?

Hi

Does anyone know of a good analogue adaptor to record analogue footage from a vcr etc into a digital footage on a computer? I used to have a Pinnacle USB moviebox adaptor which was perfect until it just died on me out of the blue.. I recently bought a Dazzle Video Creator Platinum but althought it records fine I can't use the footage in Adobe Premier Pro which is why I need it.. The problem is the footage cannot be opened or imported into Adobe Premier because of encoding or compression issues with the footage (the adaptor captures the footage into an mpeg that is compressed in a way that Premier is not compatible with). So I need to find an adaptor that will capture footage onto my system in a way that I can use on Premier.

Thanks

I use an Adaptec AVC-2000 analog video capture card that works really well with Sonic DVD software and my VCR. Adaptec devices are pretty reliable. Also Turtle Beach makse good video capture hardware: Check here:

under the video capture catagory.
