Question about graphic card compatibility.?

Would anybody happen to know if the XFX GeForce 8500GT 256MB PCI-Express video card is compatible with a hp pavillion 520n, the computer is from 2002, so I'm not sure if it'll work with the computer. I don't want to have to go out, buy the card for $100 just to go home to learn it doesn't work! >_<

Big thanks ahead of time. :)

Unfortunately you only have a PCI Expansion slot in the tower, not express. However, there are GeForce cards with plain PCI. PCI is your universal expansion slot for any internal component you wanna put in such a tv tuner or wireless adapter and sound card. Best Buy or Circuit City sells PCI GeForce 8000 series cards so check them out. Dont worry about the return policy, at Best Buy you have 30 days to return a product even if opened.
No, it will not work as your computer is SDRAM and the video card is DDR2 RAM.
First you need to find out if your computer has a pci express 16 slot if it does then yes it is compatible ddr, ddr2, or ddr3 but from reading a forums your computer doesnt not have a pci express therefore you cannot use it on your computer sorry your computer only has regular pci slots so you should be looking for a pci video card

Hope this helps
The system you have DOES NOT support pci-e or agp. The only type of card you can install is a pci .Make sure you uninstall drivers for your on board video first!
