Apple computers... where can i get one for under $500.00?
Answers:
You can look on eBay or any other trusted online auction site to search for the Mac of your choice. The newer ones have the prices spiked up since they're, well, the newer units that start out at a very low price with no reserve. Also check a handy dandy second hand store or pawn shop to look for a Mac you desire. Make sure that it at least has the folowing specs:
- Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger
- 1 GHZ G4 processor
- 512 MB RAM
- DVD±RW/CD±RW disc drive
-Firewire/USB 2.0 ports
- Airport/WiFi ready
- at least a 12" monitor (if you don't have one or you don't have one built in)
- try to find a decent printer, too
I hope that helps.
Good luck!
try e-bay auction you may be lucky
but why do you want a apple laptop anyway, they are over priced, over rated, and your tied to apple mac for everything, repairs are very expensive software is more expensive.
now give me one good reason why you want a mac and I will give you ten reasons why the PC laptop is the far better buy..

pm me and I will show you how and why the pc laptop is the better buy
Dude Carling, there is only one real reason to get a Mac. Its pretty simple, Mac OS X. Its more stable, more secure, and not full of all the BS Vista and XP have. You don't have to deal with spyware and viruses, plus anything you can do on a PC can be done on a Mac.
Any computer under $500 is not going to be particularly flash. You could try ebay. Also remember that the Mac mini does not come with a keyboard, mouse or monitor, so you will have to pay for those as well.
If you are short on money, why not flexirent an iMac or MacBook? You can get a low-end iMac for just $24 a month. That's like $5 a week, and ends up being much more affordable. On the apple website, they offer flexirenting: look here
