I had my Pc (im on my laptop right now) For about 5 years so granted its old but... it was working relatively fine until about 2 weeks or so ago. I then got a problem where upon start up it would go to this black screen that said this screen is showing cause of some problem with windows and i had to pick from a bunch of choices. starting up in safe mode, starting normally, and starting from the last known config that worked. Nothing worked except for the last choice,. when i picked this windows would open up and act fine and run properly (until the next time you had to turn on the computer), i was busy with work and didnt have time to call anyone about it (nor do i have the extra money to get it fixed right now).. but then suddenly the other day it wont go past that screen..nothing works. I have the windows cd...i was wondering if there was a way to run it frm that kinfd of screen ...or is this a totally lost cause?

It sounds like a virus!
You should reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows
then goto
http://free-antivirus.xdca.com and install the antivirus software

If you have the original cd', it should be bootable. Just put the cd in, re-boot, and run 'Repair'
you ought to get a new computer most h4x0rs will tell you that a five year old computer is too old.
if you have winxp and have the cd, format it with the cd and reinstall xp.
