Windows 95 Question?
I have windows 95 running in virtual PC, and i dont have a windows 95 install disk, since i took the old hard drive my intel 486 computer and just made a virtual HD copy.
I need to know how to set-up Ethernet in windows 95,with the Intel 21140 (i think its PCI) that virtual PC uses.
We used to use Dial-Up with that computer (who didnt at that time , lol) but i dont have dial-up currently , i use broadband.
Answers:
Yes, Ethernet has been supported since Windows 3.x.. You'll just need to find the right drivers.. Windows 98, or ME drives should also work, since they were all basically the same version just with patches.
There may even be a generic NIC driver that you can use.
Putting a Win 95 computer (virtual or not) is asking for trouble. I would recommend against this as there isn't any support for it anymore and it will get infected eventually.

It may not since windows 95 and Windows NT3.5 or NT 4.0 had to be dual booted to access a server the program on NT was ras (random access server) try putting a nic in and try Win 98 drivers their is no drivers for Window 3x for a nic. Go to DriverGuide.com. to see what drivers are needed for Win95 for nic support. Microsoft does not support Windows95 anymore.
