Does AIM unexpectedly quit on your Mac G5 too?

Nope. AIM, YM, iChat, and Skype all work great on my G5.
Open your Disc utility, and perfomr a permissions repair on your hard drive. The could clear up the problem. If not, trash your current AIM, and reload it.
Your best solution, is download a free app called AdiumX. It combines all of your chat apps into one. It's great.
OMGSH! YES! It also happens to my friends who have a G4. It is soo annoying! I'm just like, that was random/odd!!

I'm sorry to post an answer that sounds like one from a Windows Nazi, but why aren't you using iChat instead? You would think that iChat would be set up to work a lot better on a G5 than AIM is.
Maybe it's the AIM server instead. Anyway I hope that this problem clears up for you. Best of luck to you.

iChat works fine, it is compatible with AIM and you can chat with your AIM friends. Just use iChat.
