Hold down the power button on the computer for 5 seconds and this will shut down

1)cntrl+alt+delete(to get rid of windows that freezes)
2)start button, press shut of computer, press restart
3)press the power button and hold till it shut down(use this as last resort)
if your computer freezes or slow send me an message and I'll follow though the step you need to fix it

Reset is restarting the computer, Turning if off then on again.
Is that what you are talking about?
I know what you mean all you got to do is go on your hard drive and with twezers move the jumper to reset then run it and its wiped out but remember it will delete your os.(or if you got an old dell theres an extenal reset button under the power hold it 5 seconds and it wipes it out also.

If it is I suggest you can restart your computer by pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE, clicking Shut Down, and then clicking Restart in the What do you want the computer to do drop-down list.
if u mean the reset button wont work, the cable for it might not be hooked to the motherboard, just press ctrl-alt-delete a few times and it will restart
