Switching from a workstation to an imac?
But they don't formulate a version of Wordperfect for it?
I'll obligation a new driver for my printer?
Pop up video won't work?
Anyone have any experience near switching from a pc to a mac next to these issues in my mind?
Answer:
If you are going to create the switch for Windows based PCs to Macs, get that there will be frustrating times and times where on earth things don't seem to bring in sense. You should have your mind set on making the switch first and foremost, you own to learn exotic habits, and foreign ways that things work.
Once you have committed to making the switch I would suggest going to an Apple store if you enjoy one locally to go and look at the machines and go and get to play with the OS rather bit.
Now to address some of your concerns:
Yes, they do not have a reworked copy of Word Perfect for Mac, however there are two honest options (MS Office, iWork) and several so-so options (OpenOffice, various home grow text editors)
Yes, you will stipulation a new driver for your printer - however printer support is enormously good and you should own no problem getting a new driver from your printer purveyor.
There is no reason that pop-up video won't work
Personally I use both windows and mac and Linux interchangeably but I'm not a usual user. I would suggest checking out a site called MacMentor (http://www.macmentor.org) if you are serious give or take a few switching - Full Disclosure : I'm a mod on that site.
I hope that helps you out, but the bottom smudge is to do what is best for you.
heck yes they do...i love mine and i just switched
dude, mac is scrap for one thing just. When getting new software or downloads some companies dont enjoy a mac a version. If portable, size, and wireless card is a must afterwards just get hold of a dell, toshiba, or if u have the dough a Sony nouns top.
DON'T Mac is really really really messed up.

I've never had any issues installing alien printers. Just plug it in and it should pick it up. As far as wordperfect go I've not tried it, but you can get word for it, which is fine. And if you're refering to window movies they work fine! As does quicktime. I've never looked back since I've gone to macs' and I find PCs' clunky slow and prone to crashing. I've never have a mac crash or lock up on me once. Once you've masterd the differences you'll love them and never go wager on. And if you want games then buy an xbox. Hope this help?
If you want word on mac it exist "office" who's a pack with word, excel, etc...compatible near PC!
If you have the driver for PC it must be for mac too! If not go through this mac driver in google for example beside this words: "driver mac + name of your printer" you'll find.
Popups are welcome! its depend the configuration of your safari or firefox (the two best web platforms for mac)
You do a fitting choice! Enjoy apple! And it exist no virus with this type of device! mac is stronger.
Try downloading flash player. even though it is capable next to only pcs.
I'm a Mac user from the start, but I've used PCs previously. The Mac is a great computer. I don't think it's carnival for people to say aloud they suck when they've never actually USED a Mac back.
WordPerfect is kind of disappearing. Microsoft make a version of Office for Mac.
Printer drivers for the most adjectives printers are already installed in Mac OS X. If it isn't, you can other go to the printer manufacturer website and see if they have a driver for the Mac. Most do.
Someone answered this cross-question saying that Flash Player isn't made for the Mac. That's wrong. Of course it's made for Mac. It would be charitable of pathetic if it wasn't. I've never have any problems watching videos online. However, you should download the Flip4Mac plugin that will permit QuickTime play Windows Media files. All of this can be obtained for FREE from Apple's website.
Apple have tried to make the switch from PC to Mac progress very smoothly. You can install Windows XP on your Mac and use it anytime you want. There are lots options on the ways you can do this. Just contact me for more details. I'll be glad to abet you! I hope this helped, and once you bring back used to the Mac, you'll never go final. I'll bet you a million dollars. :)
PS...Don't be fooled by the commercials for the Mac though...ANY opertaing system can get virus, and the Mac is no exception. Mac DO get virus, but there are far not as much of viruses out here that affect Mac OS X. I've NEVER had any virus protection software on my Mac, so you really don't entail to worry roughly it.
