Pc windows or a mac ??

I am trying to understand the last explanation. Mac users do not pay for software updates. Your Mac checks on a monthly basis for upgrades, informs you what there is, downloads what you want and installs it for you free. Major upgrades to new software, like Windows users going from XP to Vista, do cost money. The comments about viruses etc, boil down to one thing, there are none. Yes Macs can get viruses, if anyone ever writes one. It is harder to write a Mac virus and the Mac user has to disable the safety prgrams on a Mac (firewall etc.) to install it. Right now there are 100,000 + Windows viruses, and no Mac viruses, why spend your time downloading virus updates everyday, running scans everyday, get a Mac. As to software, yes there are more Windows games, how many do you play? Let's see 10,000 Windows games (some so similar you can't tell them apart) or 1000 Mac games. Again, what do you do with your computer? If you want to play games buy a Nintendo or similar.
A Mac is limited in the number of applications that can be used with it.They are unjustifiably expensive.
It depends what you want to do with it! If you're using Windows and want to play games, then stick with a PC. But if you're using it for design software then get a Mac. It's entirely up to you.
well windows is far stable but costly if you want windows vista

mac is user-friendly good OS stable ok but very few programs exist for MACS

so windows is better far more programs for it
Try out a mac cos trying is better or i think now u can dual boot a mac OS on a pc i think only the latest version (tiger or leopard)
Macs can do nearly anything that PCs can do, in the rare circumstances where an equivalent program or Mac version doesn't exist you can install Windows on all of the most recent Macs.

In value for money terms, they are now no more expensive than a DIRECT PC equivalent (exact specs), especially when you add the value of all the software that comes pre-installed. You get a lot of power for your money in Macs these days.

Plus, Mac OSX is far more stable, powerful, nicer to look at and SECURE than Windows.

Go on, take the leap.

you could google the subject. Ive owned both and personally I would never buy another mac there is little truth in them being safer etc. mostly just hype. It’s a preference thing in the end. Just as many love as hate either one.
a mac is much better off than a windows.
but yeah, yet it is not in a stage where u will fine absolutely everything that a windows support.
basically its in d developing stage and has a very bright future.
it is comparatively costlier than a windows pc. but it requires much less maintainance so its k.
a mac is far more stable and has cooler gadgets and you can download bootcamp for free so you can run windows on the mac. i recommand the mac
you wont be able to play games

you wont get half the apps you can buy on pcs

you wont get any hardware support post warranty

you cant upgrade them

theyre expensive to buy and even more expensive to get repaired

theyre only secure from viruses because virus writers can be arsed to write for the few owners that exist

you wont get decent drivers for non mac usb equipment you use with them

theyre a pain in the *** to clean

3 years and you have to replace a £30 battery in them

lastly
pc users will think you are gay =)
(my gay work collegue agrees with me lol)
Everything george_graham said but with the addition that you have to PAY for new security updates and fixes, unlike windows which although mac users will swear is completely unsecure, which gets FREE service packs/security hotfixes.
