I purchased a new computer with a faster processor, can i put my old hard drive in it so i dont lose anything?

Answers:
yes ... i wouldnt try to run it as the primary boot drive though .. slave it in ...
Depending on what your old computer had on it for an operating system, if it was Win98 you most likely can get that to work even though I would not recommend it. If it is Windows 2000 or Windows XP, there is a very VERY good chance it will NOT work. It might boot but you will get a BSOD. (Blue Screen Of Death) Good Luck
Yes you can. But it depend if you hard disk is compatible with your motherboard.

You put put it as a (slave) so you will have two hard disk in your computer.

A simpler way to do it would be to burn your file on CD.

Or try to transfer from your old pc to your new pc.

Good Luck!
dze is right... set the old drive up as a slave...then it might not be a bad idea to move all the old data to new drive and then format the old drive and use it for extra storage (thus getting any old OS off of the system..
Yea, just set it the jumper to "Slave" and use the gray connector of the ribbon cable on the IDE cable. You might still run into a few problems, maybe, if your older hard drive still has an operating system installed.
ok half answers are useless. Yes you can make your old drive a slave and then you have access to all your old information but not your apps.
Other method is to install it as a primary and use your new one as storage.
To prevent blue screen of death with windows XP. boot onto cd rom ( Your xp ) press enter to install first screen, F8 to accept the agreement, windows will now search for previous versions, once it has done this you can press R for repair, and follow the on screen dialouge as though you were doing a fresh install. You will now be able to use all your Apps from the old computer as well as access all your files/data.
I am doing this this evening to a clients computer so I know that it works.
Slave it with the jumpers. search google to find how to do it.
