I have an emacine t1742. The orange power light comes on but the computer does not.?

I have a light on the power button and the CD rom, but the computer will not start. I replaced the power supply. I had the old on plugged up and made the mistake of unplugging the 20 pin connector with the power on. What do I need to check now?

Video card problem.
Mistake #1: E-machines.
Mistake #2: You already know about taking the 20 pin connector on the MB.

Now, can you hear the HD spin up when you turn it on?
Make sure everything is connected (power wise).
On the MB when you power up, there should be a little green LED that comes on. If it is there and the processor fan comes on, you are ok there. If not the MB has a problem that may or may not be caused by Mistake #2. Replace MB.

If all that comes on and still does not come on, can you hear any audible "beeps" in a series? Including problems with memory, video, mb etc.

Beep codes will give you information as well if there are any.

Next check the HD. Make sure it is connected properly. If all above checkout and the HD is not spinning, replace the HD.
