Dell has not figured out a way to lock their computers to only dell accessories, yet.
You are free to choose any manuf. you want for a keyboard..for now.
You can get a keyboard from anywhere.
Your office supply stores or anywhere you buy your new keyboard will have a cover.
Basically any other brand of keyboard will work. I would reccomend anything from Logitech.
Any keyboard will work.
As for the cover,you can get one from any Dollar store.

Have a rule that you can't eat or drink anything around the computer and you have to wash your hands before you use it.
Then buy a generic keyboard from Radio Shack or Circuit City or wherever.

Ok, two things.
First one: If you are going to buy a new keyboard, it can be from any brand from any store of any type. Depends on your needs. There are keyboards that have bluetooth integrated or sound control or buttons to play, pause or stop the song of your player in the pc. But if it is only to type (which is basically the main function of a keyboard) anyone would be ok
Second Thing: There are some protectors for keyboards that apple use for their keyboards but i'm not sure if they are compatible with all keyboards. It is a rubber like thing that you put in the keyboard. You can check in the catalog of www.apple.com to see them
