Buying a new PC and need help…. Please?

I’m looking to buy a new PC but don’t know which model to get. I’ll basically be using it for the following:

Internet Surfing
Basic Excel Spreadsheets
Saving Pictures form my digital camera
Downloading a few songs & videos

Gateway? HP? Dell? And what model?

I’m so confused

Answers:
I recommend that you should get a Dell. Dell computers are very good for most people; I have been getting computers from them for years and think that they are reliable (most of the time) and trustworthy. All in all, for price and hardware specs, Dell is the best. As for the model, I can see you have limited needs and therefore will not need a powerful computer. This is a link to some Dell Inspiron Desktops:

From here, you can use factors such as size, processor speed, hard drive, RAM, CD Drive, and others to customize your PC. SInce your needs are pretty basic, you can get a cheaper, simpler PC. As for Office software, you should probably get Microsoft® Office Home and Student 2007 because it is the cheapest suite from Microsoft Office that includes Excel.

I hope you enjoy your new computer.
Toshiba's are great and hey there portable, compact, and can do everything you just listed for around the same price as a PC. Also they are better than any of the PC's you mentioned.
Dell is the best by far and right now there are great deals. Don't be fooled by those outrageously expensive computers. You just need a basic PC. You can call dell or just check out the website. I would recommend the following sites as well. GL!.

and of coures...dell.com
Dell>Inspiron 530s .It's good for you. My cousin have one it's good. Price is low, just $698

or you can buy

HP>HP Pavilion a6150y. It will be good for you. It is just $549.99.

OR

Gateway>Gateway DX430>$600

I recommending you to buy the Dell. It's best. Or you can buy HP or Gateway. Depends on you and your money.
be very care full as all of them just wont your money, i recently bought -hp-with -xp-windows on it and it developed the problem while still under warranty and sure enough they took it back and got it going but sent it back going very slow, non responding and that's unacceptable and there are others like it, I'd suggested to look in to "mackintosh" or mac, which someone told me after i made my purchase but apparently they are supposed to be much easier to operate.
