I would check the video card and the power supply. Running a DVD movie places stress on both.
If your video card is fairly new with at least 128 MB of dedicated memory on it, then it is probably the power supply.
With a high power video card, a large hard drive, a DVD drive plus the mobo requirements you need a minimum of 350 watts available. If your power supply is smaller than that, it is probably the bottleneck.
Check the time out on your screen saver. If you ocassionally move the mouse while watching the movie, it will reset the time to zero for whatever is set. You'll find the time under video properties.
Try checking your power options under performance and maintenance. Window XP allows you to have your computer automatically shut down, or go into sleep mode, after a certian time. It can be set to trigger after as much as 5 hours. Set your power scheme to "never" shut down automatically. Hope this helps.
