Computer problems/megabytes..HeLP!...

i have been working on a computer that i got for days..upgrading it and such and such. Well i tried upgrading it to windows xp and well xp requires 64.00 megabytes
while my computer only have 48.00 megabytes and windows xp will not install on that computer.
i was wondering is there a way to get more megabytes..i tried freeing up alot of disk space but that still won't help..is there any helpful suggestions out there? Can anyone tell me how to get more megabytes?

You must be talking about RAM...

Are you sure 128MB isn't the minimum? I can tell you from experience that I wouldn't use XP on anything running less than 256MB of RAM. It won't be bearable. 512MB is the sweet spot, and 1GB is the standard today in XP.

Heck, the new Vista even wants more. Many have said the sweet spot for that is 2GB! I think it may be time for you to buy a new PC - it must be pretty old if it has less than 64MB of RAM.
You are probably referring to RAM rather than hard disk space. I can't see why you would have only 48MB RAM unless it is being shared with the graphics.

Check inside your pc to see how many slots there are (they should be long thin stick next to your cpu which would look like a big fan and block). Check your motherboard manual. That should show you where they are located and also what sizes, typesand speed of RAM you can use.
If your computer only has 48 meg, then it probably wouldnt handle XP anyway. How in the world do you have only 48 meg. Send me the rest of your computer specs and I can help you a lot better.
try to add to your memory disk. Buy new memory chips (well thats what i call it) When you do buy be sure that it is the same megabites that you currently have ( I don't know why but that what my uncle told me ). If not try to upgrade your memory to gigabites or better yet Hertz.
ok, firstable you need for xp a hard disc of 80GB and a RAM memory of 512 in order to install this operating system
Are you talking about RAM megabytes or Hard Drive Megabytes. There is a difference.

XP Requires - Bare Minimum - 256MB RAM to run and about 80 MB hard disk space. XP Runs better on 512MB RAM.

IF it is the Hard Drive you are talking about, you can purchase a new Hard Drive and install it.

Same goes for the RAM. Just make sure it is compatible with the motherboard.

email me if you have more questions.

Can you give some more details, like what you have done to the computer so far. Windows xp usually runs on 32mb of graphics memory, I'm just guessing you were talking about graphics memory. I imagine your new computer (running vista i suppose) would run on xp just fine, unless you were changing bios settings for new hardware, and this new pc would have come with an integrated graphics chip having a maximum available graphics memory to run any os up to vista.
