If your virus/spyware free, there are a couple things you can do get your computer working the way it was originally. If you using your laptop for normal stuff and not gaming. You got a good setup. You don't need more RAM you just need to perform a few maintenance task.

there must be lot of programs running at startup(programs that automatically runs when the system boots) like yahoo messenger, msn messenger etc. Just download AVG Anti-Spyware Free Edition and install it. Go to Analaysis --then--Autostart in AVG Anti-Spyware and deleted unwanted entries like messengers or any other service you won't need at startup. Restart the PC after deleting the unwanted entries.
now it should load faster than before.
You could also run the Scanner---Complete Scan in Avg Anti-Spyware. It might take around 5 minutes depending on your PC configuration. But it'll keep your PC in good shape.
