Quick question: Can I install this OS on this computer..?
any help please!
Answers:
No. Even if you could all the drivers on it are for the lap top, not good, and if by chance it did you would still have to pay for a license from microsft as they would recognize it as another computer No gain , You want the install disk and you wont get it that way.
You should be able to, however be aware that the license only covers installation on one computer.
nope, the reinstallation disk that come with a computer are usually protected to only install on those machines.
can give it a try but dont hold your breath
that would be illegal. period.
but besides that, dell disks are generally made for specific dell computers. I had a dell a while back (got it for free) and reformatted it for my sister. The disk was meant only for the dell.
you are suppose to buy a new license or xp disk for use on another computer. other than that you would be infringing the copyright.
It won't work, it will tell you this is not Dell product.
Try and see what happens, Dell is one that supplies XP that doesn't have to be activated by dear ole Bill, in Seattle. :)
i noticed you said it was ME! and not XP, so as far as the "XP genuine advantage" thing, your clear on that. but I had a Dell WebPC with ME, and tried to upgrade using my newer Dells XP disk, and it worked fine, but when i tried to use it on a HP, it wouldnt let me, as the error "we're sorry! but your system is not a reconised Dell Computer, call your supplier for further information" so good luck.
