Should I get a 20" iMac with 1 or 2GB or RAM?

Is RAM really as important for a Mac as it is for a regular PC? I don't think I will be doing much with the Mac... just using it when someone is using the laptop... But if i was to do video editing and stuff along those lines later... would it be best with 2GB RAM?

Answers:
If you think 1 is enough, get 2GB.

You can NEVER have too much RAM and you will thank yourself later when you don't need to upgrade because you did it at the time of purchase.
despite what some people may think ram is not as imprtant on a mac as it is on a pc. since your not going to be doing too much u could probably just go with 1gb, you can always upgrade to 2 gb. however if the price difference is aroung 50 between 1 and 2 just do 2. but if it is more expensive than that stick with one
2gb
You're on a winner with that. I have one and it behaves impeccably, I certainly can't fault it. Go for it and you'll soon stop using a PC. Just remember that the memory boards have to be fitted in same value pairs if you upgrade.

I think u should get the 2gb ram. i mean y limite yourself with lower ram. well at least, that what I will do..

good luck.
Macs are overpriced anyway, might as well pay a few extra bucks for 2 gigs.
I would go with the 2GB RAM because you would probaby have to upgrade the memory at some point down the road anyway, as more and more programs require greater amounts of RAM.
The more memory the better!
