Ive used windows all my life and only a few years ago aquired a mac. Mac gets me frustrated because the way everything is placed is not the same as windows. Im no longer frustrated but it will give you a headache.
Mabers also macs do get viruses :P and windows only dies out on you same as a mac if you mis treat it.
windows all the way
Windows, because most all programs work with Windows.
Mac, lots of programs aren't compatible.
music is fine with both but not too many games that you can buy for mac. I would go with windows
windows > mac
nuff said
windows
MAC pros:
-no viruses.EVER
-good stable programs
-very easy to use
-lasts forever
PC pros:
-good for games
-cheaper
MAC cons:
-more expensive
-not as many games for macs
PC cons:
-prone to viruses
-prone to program malfunction
-dies quicker
-overall just SUCKS
get a mac if you can afford it.
Windows for games macs for everything else.
I would recommend windows since the majority of software out there is compatible with it more so than with a Mac.
Macs are nice, but I would only recommend them for those in graphics and video editing. For gaming you would want to go windows pc.
Mac. What you should do is go to an Apple Store and use one. And now you can load Windows onto a Mac if you want to (I haven't) and you can install Microsoft Office on the Mac (I have--and it's so much more fun on the Mac!). Macs are quite a lot more expensive, but you won't run into as many problems and they are not as affected by viruses.
As far as music goes, go with a MAC. iTunes is great, and it's so easy to sync up with an iPod.
Games... I'm a bit torn. I used a PC for years and had a huge game collection, and had to get rid of most of it when I switched to MAC. There's a great store, MAcGameStore.com, to find all the games you'd need though!
Long story short, I am THRILLED with my MAC! Once you go MAC, you never go back!
If you enjoy gaming, windows. Windows has the widest selection of games, since it is the most popular. If you owned a Mac you could be noticing you missing out of purchasing some games since they would not work on Mac OS. I know what you are thinking, change may be good, but I would stick with Windows.
Since you are a music freak and gamer i would have to sugjest the windows because It is proven to play games faster(the games will lagg on mac but not windows). and for the music theres Winamp a program i use to play my music it works very good and its 100% free. Also, iTunes is good if you have an iPod to put music on.
personally, mac.their better for things like pictures, film editing, music making and recording and things like that, which is what i use them for,so obviously i'll like a mac.plus everything about them is always a great innovation.
windows are pretty bland,i started off with windows and had it for years and years.can't do much on it.
it just depends on what you want, since your a gamer (i hate saying this) you might want to try a pc,because i don't think that many games are on mac.but that is an issue they talked about recently and are going to address,so you could be fine with a mac and satisfy your music and gaming needs.
for gaming and music, go with the mac. I have the iMac G5, and i love it. I used windows for years, and I'm having so much fun with my mac. It takes some getting used to, but i don't think i could ever go back to windows. There are so many more options with your Mac. Windows is generic and old school. GET THE MAC!
PS. Make sure you get apple care with your computer.
Well, I own a mac. They are more defensive against viruses, they dual task better, and they are better for media purposes. They just don't have many games for them yet, but Apple is planning on releasing some soon.
Windows did do a fairly good job on Vista, changing from a 32bit to a 64bit processor. But Macs have been running on 64s for quite some time, so I like to think they have it mastered.
Also, I haven't had any problems with mine yet, but if I did, I have heard really good things about the Apple tech support team.
My mac is the first computer in my life that I haven't been tempted to chuck out the window. Good Luck!
Mac's are pretty seet. Macbook has a built in camera. I personally have windows only because Apple's cost alot! i like Apple's but like a said they cost alot. If you have the money i would get a Mac!
I am in love with Macs .. never used them though .. but I trying to get an Apple computer ... try to get an iMac http://store.apple.com/1-800-my-apple/we... it's suitable for use, powerful, and not so expensive ... beside the intel based ones will enable you to install Windows just in case you need it ... beside Mac OS is more secure than Windows ... try to go to an Apple store, and let one of the guys there give you a tour on it ...
I'm surprised that only one other user, mr_luay1985, mentioned this: Macs can run Windows too! You can get a Mac, do everything you want without fear of the software crapping out on you, then reboot into Windows for a gaming fix. It's the best of both worlds. Macs can run Windows, but generic Windows PCs can't run Mac OS X (in all fairness, they would if they could, but Apple doesn't allow it). The Mac is by far the more versatile machine in terms of the software you can run on it.
Personally, I won't buy anything but a Mac unless I am forced to. Macs usually cost slightly more (though the cost is exaggerated greatly by PC companies), but they rarely need additional service or parts. They are one of the most reliable brands and Apple has excellent customer support.
For music, you can work right out of the box with Garageband, which is surprisingly versatile, but somewhat juvenile at the same time. Almost all other professional music applications are available for the mac since more artists and creative professionals tend to use macs.
Games are the achilles' heel for macs, although even that is surprisingly turning around. EA games recently agreed to start supporting macs more fully, and never has there been a computer game I wanted that isn't available for the mac. Halo, Civ IV, Command & Conquer, Medal of Honor, Call of Duty... many big names are out there. I would recommend checking EA Games' and Aspyr's website for an idea of your selection. Also, ALL Blizzard games (Warcraft, World of Warcraft, Starcraft, etc.) are fully compatible with Macs.
Probably the most important thing, though, is a user's general experience with their computer. I bought mine over a year ago and have been thrilled with it ever since. I love working on it. I have since helped several other people purchase macs, and they, too, have been very pleased with the experience. Setting things up is always a snap; plug it in, and it works.
Yeah, you'll have to get used to a few differences between windows and mac, like how xing out of a window doesn't quit the application, or the anti-climatic maximize button. Overall, though, most things on a mac are just better.
Oh, and if push comes to shove, you always install windows on your mac... y'know, just in case.
Happy Shopping!
