Dell dimension 8250 random shutdown/sleep?

This is happening on 2 dell dimensions. usually right after the boot screen at the Ctrl+Alt+Del screen the system goes to sleep -kind of. The screen goes down (amber light) and cannot be turned back on, the fans still spin, the power light is still green, the sound stops, the cdrom tray still ejects. This is very weird. I've run chkdsk and nothing, replaced the psu and it still happens. This will also happen once or twice throughout the day after boot up. The diagnostic lights are all unlit when the system goes down. Before it goes down they are all green. any help is greatly appreciated!

Could be a problem with device drivers , hardware or software . This problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html...
