Will This Processor Fit My Motherboard?
Answers:
Knowing the make and model of the motherboard would help establish if everything would work fine.. however, yes, I do feel that any of the AM2 cpus will work fine. The X2 portion of the CPU is within the CPU itself and not in the motherboard, so there won't be any problems there.
Another thing you could do would be to update the BIOS - just to be on the safe side of allowing the motherboard to work with the 'newest' versions of the CPUs.
The processor will physically fit and you probably won't have any problems. Since both are AM2 then the pin layout is the same.
If they fit into the same socket, ie, socket AM2, then they should work.
Try this. Find out your motherboard's make and model. Goto their website and find your motherboard. Read the specifications regarding CPU support. It will tell you if it will support X2 or not.
What you really need is the Model and manufacture of the motherboard then you can go to their website and find out which wether the board suports AMD x2 dual core processors.
Physically, it would fit in the socket since both socket and processor are AM2
