PC DVD player. Not a computer buff - played a Region 1 but now it will not play region 2 (home region)?

Been into properties etc... to reset - and it states that I have 1 more chance to change regions, but that has not worked. The error code that comes up after that is 8090000F. Can anyone get my DVD player to work again? I would like to be region free. The DVD player is a Cyberlink Power DVD

Answers:
To change the Region for your DVD player on your computer from Region 1 which is north America to Region 2 Europe this is what you must do first:
to change the region to 2 first click on Start:
then click on My Computer:
you will see a Icon with DVD-RW (E) right click and scroll down to properties:
Click on properties then you will see a TAB saying Hardware click on this:
Click on the DVD option then click on properties:
you will see a TAB saying DVD Region click on this,
then you will see a list of country's scroll down to your country which in this case will be the United Kingdom click on this then click the OK
and that's it all done, but do be very careful for you can only change the Region a limited number of times which is 4
After the changes remaining Reaches Zero (0) you will not be able to change the Region even if you reinstall windows or move your DVD drive to a different computer.
hope this information helps you,
good luck
You need to get program that will let you play any region discs, Region Free and DVD Anywhere, both work well, but I am sure there are many other programs that will do it just as well.

Mail me if you need further help.
Most DVD players are set up so that you can change the region 4 times. This is done in an effort to cut down on bogus CD's coming from over seas. After that, you will need to contact the manufacturer and hopefully, they will be able to work with you. They may ask you to take it back and exchange it or ship it to them for them to reset.

Good Luck
It appears that you have used all your "changes to regions" options and that you are now stuck with your last setting.

The Error Code you mention is just confirming that your disc is the wrong region for your player setting.

A good tip if you are likely to switch between DVD regions within your DVD collection is to have 2 DVD players on your computer. They are not expensive.

Have one configured for Region 1 and the other configured for Region 2. This will circumvent you having to switch through the limited changes that you can make on a single DVD player.

This advice is if you are unable to resolve your problem through the software route.
