Hard disk space keeps disappearing!?
Answers:
Its your computer registry. You computer registry holds a detailed record of all the software installs, uninstalls, updates, and deletion. This registry grows to an enormous size if let unchecked. This is especially true is you are using security software such as a virus scanner. There logs alone can be up to 20 meg. In addition errors and duplication occur. So, if you have clean in organized your registry in a while you should. Here is a link to some free scans. Hope this helps!

Most likely that's the System Restore taking up space. Go to Start->Accessories->System Tools.->Disk cleanup.
It'll calculate how much space it can free up, and then a new window will pop up. In the new window click the 'more options' tab, and click 'clean up' beside system restore. Then click the window off with the ok button. After that, check your HD space. You should have most of it back.
Also, I recommend repeating this process every week or so to keep your HD clean.
Hope this helps! :)
gonna be a trojan or virus or some bad software. try to empty all temperary folders, deselect strange programs on startup with "msconfig", scan for spyware
