Cheap Reliable Computers?
DELL is out of the question. We have those at my job, and they are a lot of trouble.
Answers:
You could build your own desktop, if you are knowledgeable about computers. Its the cheapest way to get a really great computer. Also, there are some sellers on Ebay that build computers and sell them online. You should always check their feedback however. We buy our computers from Sam's club because they have a really good warranty. Plus you can buy an extended warranty. I would never buy a computer from Dell... just a keystroke away from hell, as I always say. I will tell you something though, if you go cheap with a computer, cheap is what you get. Make sure you get a reasonably good processor or motherboard or that cheap computer that you buy is going to end up costing you a lot of money. Burning movies and playing games. all that makes a lot of demands on a processor. Plus it requires a decent amount of RAM and a good video card. Trust me on this, don't cheap out because it will burn you in the end. You want either an AMD or a Pentium Processor.
I will add one more thing... buy a desktop. Its going to be a lot easier to repair if something goes wrong, they last a lot longer and are easier to update if you choose to add more memory or replace your processor later on. And they are a lot less expensive.
Dell's expensive machines are nice, and their cheap machines suck.
I'd recommend a Compaq. they're made from HP, and they dont come with loads of crap whereas HP's do.
I beg of you do not get eMachines dammit
Best Buy and WalMart have good buys on HP & Compaq computers for their back to school sales.
