Do non computer literate people also get jobs in companies?
Answers:
I know where you are coming from but the thing is that you have to understand from a companys perspective as well that in this materialsitic world every thing is about power and money. So if computer litercacy is a requirement coming up with a better skill that the employer thinks might be more beneficial is the way to go. Just remember at the end of the day it is all about selling your self. sale skills are most imp than any other skills.
Hope this helps

yup.
not only computer literate people gets jobs...
its unfair if only the computer literate people gets hired. why? because not all companies hire computer literate people, some people gets hired because they are intelligent.
no, they all work convenience stores and gas stations
Yes they do, depending on the position you apply for.
However, if the choice is between a computer literate prospective employee and an non-computer literate prospective employee, and again, depending on the job, most likely the job will go to the one with computer skills.
Non computer literate people do get jobs in companies...they are called janitors.
If a company needs to hire someone at a position that requires interaction with a computer (and most positions do), whay would they even consider someone that doesn't know how to use it? Do you think it's the responsibility of the company to then pay for training for that person? Why would they shell out the money and the time, when they could just hire someone for the same price that already knows how to use one?
Lets put it this way...If you're car breaks down, would you hire a person that knows nothing about cars to fix it? Would you want to pay for that person to go to mechanic's school to learn how to fix your car? Or would you just take it to a mechanic that works on cars everyday?
It may be rare but it happens. I know of a number of computer challenged people that were actually trained on the job and some went on to be programmers.
Computer skills is a plus but if you can type they will take you on. It depends on the company and their needs and believe it or not your presence and delivery carries a lot of weight.
