I have an HP desktop computer and the cdrom drive will not open?
Answers:
If you look closly at the front of your cd you should see a little hole in it. If you take a paper clip and push it in the door should open w/o having to "pry" it open.
You can also go into the "my computer" screen and you should see your cd rom in it. Right click and choose "eject".
If the button doesn't open it AND theres not a cd jamming it, it sounds like you may need a new cd drive.
They aren't expensive and all you have to do is pull your old one out and install the new one with the same hardware settings. It's about a 10 minute change over. No softwrae to install.
theres a little hole that you poke with a toothpick or needle and it'll open. Check power supply cables, might be loose.
There should be a little pinhole near the CD Rom drive, use a paperclip and push it in the hole, that should manually open the CD Rom drive. If it doesn't, it could be that the gears could be damaged.
No! You'll ruin the drive that way. Could it have a CD stuck inside? You may want to open the computer and take the drive out yourself, then take it apart, or take the computer to a repair shop. A new CD drive should sell for $30 or less.
there is a little hole on the front plate. Use a paper clip or neele to pop it open.
two things to try
one
open My Computer rt click on drive click on eject.
Two
While rebooting computer hold in eject button
Go to Start->Control Panel-> System Information->
Click on the Hardware Tab->Expand the option of DVD/CD-Rom Drives..double click on the drive. Then when that window opens, click on properties and make sure the following option is not selected : Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device.
Hopefullu that will fix your problem.
