I have HP Pavilion with Vista with 320GB HD can I put my maxtor hd into my computer as well.?

My old computer's motherboard died and my Maxtor HD is good and since I can't open my new external HD enclosure can I put my Maxtor drive into my new computer running Vista and have two hard drives?

If you've got room in your PC case there shouldn't be any problem at all. You might want to make sure you eliminate any operating system from it so you don't have a conflict when adding it to your system.

Good luck.
yes you can, just make sure the jumper on the new hard drive is set to slave
You can, but with a 320gb HD why would you want to. Just install it and make sure its connected and fire it up. Windows should recognize it as a slave drive. It will probably lable it as D or E drive.
As long as you have the slot for another hard drive, can't see why not. Actually Vista is meant to run with hard drives for different things - it should manage them nicely. Of course, you'll have to set your 2nd drive to slave and believe that you have to let the system know you have another one. Check your BIOS settings and there should be a computer management area in Vista somewhere in administrator settings.

I've been up like that too.. it's when you really 'learn'.
