It speaks to your problem.
When your pc first comes on press F11 to start the rebooting process and then follow the directions and the put in the restore disk when prompted.
You should not need a disk to do a system restore. Go to start, and under maintance, (or thats what it is on Vista) find System restore, and you can chose a date, and everything put onto the computer after the date you chose will be wiped off completly
You can still use a system restore disk just go online and find that corrupted file. You can alsso take it into Best Buy and their geek Squad will do it for you pretty cheap if they have the disk. You can also go to your control panel add/remove programs and delete all those things installed you no longer need. More a system defragmentation could go a long way to increasing your computer speed as well as eliminating any and all pictures you no longer need. Good Luck
well put the windows xp cd that you can download with when trying to download you will see a thing that say upgrade dont do that click on the box and you will see the advanced setup do that a xp will clean your computer ps. that wasnt so tough
Sounds like you don't know what you're doing. All you needed to do was uninstall the programs you don't need/want. You may have messed up your operating system by using this CD.
Do you have the CD for your OS? If so you may need to do a clean install, back up the data you need first.
Don't waste your money on any of those programs.
I had that problem once with Win98 and I just kept trying over and over to reset to original settings. It worked after trying and restarting my computer tons of times. I think the problem came from downloading a program off the internet. Try to delete programs that are not original windows stuff, restart, and try to restore to original factory settings again. I hope you fix it.
Good Luck,
Tess:)
It sounds as if you are out of memory on the hard drive which makes it difficult for your computer to function correctly. It will spit and spat. Nominally, your computer starts this when it'sabout 70% to capacity in the hard drive. Try these steps:
Try going to "control panel" then "add / remove programs" then you can see that windows will populate a list of programs and their file sizes and which ones you never use. Use the "remove program" function to gain" extra space.
Go to programs, "Accessories", System Tools", then to "Disk Clean-up". You may also want to try to Defrag your system.
Go to find on the start menu, enter in *.*.jpeg.
This will give you all images that are stored on your computer. You can start deleting, or copy them onto a CD. An image size is about 200-360K which means that 3 photos is a meg, (or million), 3,000 photos is a gig.
Email me if you have additional questions.

If you need to erase the hard drive completely, download dban. Dban nuke disc will do the job, with a DoD wipe.
