Slow Broadband Speeds?
The best I have received is 1.8Mbps but that was at 0600 hours and after that the speed drops to about 8Kbps, by 0900 this morning I just managed 350Kbps. The BB speed tester can take minutes to give a result.
BT have checked the line and it is testing ok, (a telephone engineer called today). The ISP Technical Help department have asked me to check the configuration and they say it is ok.
I hae even removed the firewall and still the speed is not increased, I use ZoneAlarm and AVG Antivirus, Spybot and ad-aware have not shown any Critical problems.
My PC is HP t 580 uk with AMD Athlon 64, Windows XP SP2, 1GB RAM, 160 & 120 GB hard drives and speedtouch 330 USB modem. Gforce FX5500 graphics card.I do not experience any problems with the computer to the best of my knowledge. I have even re installed the OS. and used different USB ports.
Has anyone any ideas?
