On bootup pc starts a disk scan?

This is due to either sudden power off without closing windows, or bad sector in your hd
If it is just for once you have no problem, if it is constant then
Start your computer in safe mode > restore to earlier point before you had this problem
this will solve the problem unless you have a bad sector in you HD,

Windows was shut down improperly or an error was detected on your hard drive. Usually though, it is from an improper shutdown. This is normal. Let it run and be done with it. Shut down Windows using the Start menu next time. Hitting the power button can damage a hard drive.
