Apple Imac DVD question?

Hi we have an Apple i mac, we are trying to put one of those small DVD's you get for camcorders into the side of the Imac, and as it does not have a normal tray type cd/dvd loader, will it take the small DVD into the side slot? I have stuck it in as far as I feel comfortable, but I am too nervous to let it go incase it just falls inside never to be seen again until I fork out oodles of cash to some techi!

Answers:
Slot loading drives are NOT compatible with small disks - they can get stuck and invalidate your warranty. Read the manual that came with your iMac - the specifically mention that you CANNOT use 8cm (small) DVDs in the slot-loading iMac.

You need a tray loading drive for this.

I'd suggest purchasing one of those £40 external DVD drives that go on sale.

Or why not use the camera as a mass storage device and simply copy the video files to the iMac?

Can you finalise the disc to allow you to copy it?
better try a computer store and get a converter sleeve - if there is one?
