Need help with computer!!!?
Answers:
Norton is a resource hog. Since it needs to be thorough in checking for viruses it needs to screen everything, sort of like in the airport with security. Only a handful of people (or files) can move at once so it takes longer. Uninstall it through control panel>add or remove programs and then get this anti virus. It is free and probably works better.
Hmph, norton requires a lot of resources out of your system, thats why i wouldnt advise using it. trty limiting what it monitors in the settings
get a mac ;)
If you want a good free lightweight antivirus, try AVG
I had the same problem with an earlier version of Symantec Anti-Virus. If you can afford it, adding more memory to the computer can help speed it back up again. Otherwise, you should return the product to Symantec for a refund. The instructions are at their website, www.symantec.com. You will have to return the original disk and proof-of-purchase by mail, and they will send you a check.
If your going to use Norton I suggest you get more ram and maybe a dual core processor so even if norton is scanning for virus you can still do whatever you want and you wont experience and delay or lag. Hope this helps :)
Try this computer speedup tool:
