asus boards are great, best cust. serv., stability, it all really depends on which cpu your going to use but the one above is my new favorite, it's got everything and the new p35 set, 1333 fsb for new intel chip's, wifi, and ddr3.
As long as it is compatible with multiple CPUs, a large amount of RAM, and one or more high-power video cards and sound cards, it does not matter.

For music and video editing, a fast RAID hard disk array is also recommended.

Here's the kind of board I'm thinking of:

First off, it's not just the motherboard that does all of this stuff, it also has to do with the processor, amount of ram, and video card. For a good motherboard that will give you great performance, but for less than $200, go for this:

This mobo has great potential for what you want it to do. If you want a great CPU to go with this, try this:

Then get 2GB of RAM or more, since it goes for about $80. This will give you a great system, and try shooting for a good Graphics Cards too, something that has DirectX 10 support. If you want the best of the best, search for something more expensive, but this is decently priced and has great specs.
