Computer troubles! PC hanging?

Right, I've got my brand new PC, but it keeps hanging. By 'hanging' I mean randomly, and for no apparent reason, I won't be able to type anything, or close any windows. I will be able to open windows, click links etc, however. After a while (maybe a few seonds, or a minute, it will be working fine again).

All drivers are installed. The system works fine apart from that. What's going on?

if it is brand new you might have a warranty so call the manufacturer and ask about it
Sounds like it might be a hardware issue. Possibly with your hard drive. If you are able to send it back or replace it I would do so since it is brand new.
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue.
1. Close any programs that are active but have stopped responding.
2. Reduce the number of applications running and active on the computer.
3. Disconnect or remove any added hardware or peripherals. This includes any printers, USB devices, added memory, internal or external drives, and any type (network, sound, video, USB, etc.) adapter card.
4. Remove unnecessary files from the hard drive.
5. Detect and repair errors on the hard drive.
6. Defragment the hard drive.
7. Remove and reinstall the video drivers.
8. Reinstall the application that was active when the system stopped responding.
