Delete the current partition and then create a new one. This will ensure a clean install.
Use the same partition, unless you want to resize it.

A partition is basically a part of the hard drive that has your operating system installed. But since you want to put a new op system, the old one must be deleted.

depends .. if you want a dual boot machine have it make another partition... if your doing a fresh install ( no previouse OS) or if your looking to upgrade the operating system choose the other

If you are trying to reinstall Windows XP, install on the "Same Partition" this will also reformat your Hard Drive at the same time. Hope this helps you.
If you want to install on a previously used disc and want to install a fresh copy of Xp, then you can delete the partition and create a new one. You can then install XP on that partition but you must create a partition to install it.
You will Delete the first partition (Recommended) unless you have data on there that you want to keep and then you install the other Xp version on the Unpartitioned space to get your data(Parallel Install), once you do that boot back up to that CD and then delete that old partition. make sure you know witch one it witch.
