Ive been playing FSX on my computer, but the frame rate is lower than what I would like. It operates anywhere from 4 to 16 frames per second...usually around 7-9 in denser areas. I have already upgraded RAM to max (2GB) and am using an Nvidia graphics accelerator. I was thinking about upgrading the processor too, but dont know if it would really help. Any ideas?

Whats your system specs? You may just want to invest in a better graphics card, the cpu will make a difference, but a good graphics card would make a bigger differance. Look into a Nvidia 8600gt card and you will get much better frame rates on nearly all games.
even though a motherboard says it can only handle 2GB of ram u can usually run up to 4GB, also try getting a new Video card, the old one your running may not beable to render things at a fast rate
