Yes HP\Compaq are good computers, in fact they are the leader in sales, support and quality products right now (contrary to popular belief). Unlike Dell, If you ever need to contact tech support you actually get a tech you can understand who speaks proper English.
I build my own desktops now but I'm speaking out of experience as several years ago I owned a HP M1270N media center PC and currently own a Compaq V6000T and a HP DV6500T notebooks.
Dell, Toshiba, and Sony. In that order. Don't buy and HP or Compaq (same computer) as they are junk. Keep away from Acer.
1) not a bad company in Asia. Friends got Acer Laptop, no problem so far.
2) YES, HP and Compaq make pretty good computers.
3) HP, if you want other brand, Sony make pretty reliable Laptop( Not their batteries thou)
4)Go check bestbuy or other online store, they have pretty good deal on desktop computers.
5)If you want reliable computer, build your own or go to a computer store and ask them to customize it for you.
6) No opinions.
