You can use the ascii code for it.
To enter an ascii character, hold down the "ALT" key on your keyboard, and type a number on your number pad (not the number keys above your letters, the one on the right side), and then release the alt key.
For heart, it's "3".
Just hold down ALT, and push the 3 key on your number pad, then release ALT key.

well, you can type a <3 for a simplistic heart, or change your font to one of the Wingding fonts and try the differnt keys until you find the heart.
