Apple vs. Windows?

For what you're going to use it for (music movies pics) I'd go with a Mac. Plus, if you buy a Mac now, you get a free iPod Nano.

Apple is better for photo editing, video editing, etc. etc.
Apple is also safer with spyware, viruses, and adware
Windows is better for programming, business related things, and video games(cause most are made for windows).

I recommend you Apple cos it's more um.. I don't know how to say this but yeah choose Apple. My teacher uses Apple and trust me, you can store a load of stuffs. No worries.
suggest checking with teacher or school of courses, and see what they prefer as well as what other students are using, you may also need laptop for work at school and home, look at what software you'll be using and which OS supports those programs, so it up to you and the peripherals needed, and being a student you may be able to get discounts prices for both,
