Take your hard disk, replace the jumper and connect it with your present hard disk
NOTE: If u dont have 2 ports, remove ur CD-ROM for a while and connect ur hard-disk Copy all data from one to another, reconnect ur CD-Rom, ur done
If u didnt understand, mail me at rakshithts_rts@yahoo.co.in and give me ur E-Mail ID for me 2 reply
if the motherboard died then just remove the hard drive, set the jumper on the back to slave and add it to the primary drive on another computer. Once you boot up you'll see the additional drive, which is yours. You can access anything you want on it after that and burn to disc or whatever...That's the easiest way.
you can use your hard drive with new motherboard, but if you have only one hard drive (or your new hard drive doesnt have windows installed on it) you have to reinstall windows. That way if have two parts on your hard drive (c and d) your data on c will be erased.
they make a USB to IDE adapter for that. You can also boot the old drive up as a slave or secondary IDE on your new PC
i have no idea what this computer lingo means, but i think that its smart to keep backup files of important things. hopefully after this experience you will do that.
Yeah you should be fine, if you dont know how to do it yourself take it to your local computer shop they should be able to put a new mobo in for you and install your old hard drive with all of you data on it. I would suggest backing up your data on an external HD just incase tho. Hope that helps.
