Which one would you guys buy? As you guys can see, both systems are nearly identical except for the fact that the first one has Intel's Quad Core processor. Is it really worth the extra $185?
Also how much faster is intel's 2.4 quad core compared to AMD's Athlon 64 X2 5000+? Give me your thoughts! =)
Answers:
Absolutely. The AMD 28% slower than the Quad core.

You can get about the same quality in a lap top, but it will cost you about a $1000 more. Having had a few of both, the lap top is more versatile
just get a mac ;)
I like the first one better. Its faster and computers running on intel doesnt freeze...unlike computers running on AMD.
I would get the first one.
I use a quad core for work and let me tell you i can notice a good jump in performance over the dual core processors. You especially need it if you are going to run windows vista. I haven't used it but I have heard from many people that you really need a built out system to hand vista. personnaly i would buy the first option if I had to choose between the two. But if you asked me what computer I would buy from all the computers currently out there i would buy the new 24" iMac.
First of all because it runs both windows and mac osx.
Second, Mac osx is a lot better than vista or xp. Epecially with leapord around the corner.
But the 900 dollar computer will be just fine.
it all looked good till it said vista on it, if you get this OS you will be sorry, before order either of these go to both of these web site and do some checking, and for heaven's sake stay with XP
1. www.CDW.com there is a 800# on web site also and they will change and built computer to suite you, just till them what you need it to do. takes about 4-5 for delivery.
2. www.directron.com just was told about this site and there price are very reasonable on desktops, parts, software etc.
Buy #1 so you don't need to upgrade your processor next time. More and more applications today and futures requires a great CPU to run.
