Can windows xp professional be installed again over ther upgrades installation?

You can buy a product key from microsoft then all you have to do is change the product key on your system.
If you search online enough though you can probably find a key that microsoft hasn't blocked yet.
Just leave auto update turned on to get the updates. Even if the copy is not legit, Microsoft knows of the harm of an OS that is not updated. You will not be able to get the updates at the website but they will eventually download through auto update.
