What is the used of cable select in hardisk that you put in on the jumper?

Because in large-capacity hardisk(40-80GB) seagate, there is no slave that you can put-on a jumper, only "master, cable select and limits capacity to 32GB". How can I put a slave hardisk using only one ide slot?

Answers:
Cable select means the position on the IDE cable determines which is master, and which is slave.

I guess if you don't put ANY jumpers, it'd be slave! :) But really, what does the instructions say?
you can probably buy a ide pci card and use the disk as master it will appear in windows

but if you want to just copy files should be a prob bro or ghost drv
You cant but is only a 95 cent cable you can get at any computer store
