Answers:
Make sure you know which ram and how to install it. ALso find out weather it is the same speed.
yup but you need to identify first the specific ram supported by your motherboard before you buy them. align the slots then push them gently until it locks itself. boot up your computer.
It's ok but you have to make sure it's the right kinds. You can go to http://www.crucial.com and use their tool to find out what kind of RAM (memory) your computer needs. They can even test your system and tell you what you need and have in the computer (each slot).

You can get cheap memory at http://www.newegg.com or http://www.tigerdirect.com
You need to ensure that the new RAM is compatible with your other hardware. If you don't know the exact type of RAM you have already, try going to www.crucial.com and finding out what's compatible. If this doesn't work, try taking your computer down to a computer shop and asking them to tell you what will be compatible. Once you have the correct RAM, you can certainly install it yourself. Try visiting this page to see how:

If you don't feel confident doing this yourself, if you take your computer down to a shop, they will be able to install it for you. :)
Check the manual for your motherboard if you built this PC. If it's one you bought from a major retailer like Dell or HP, then go out to their website and download the manual. You need to read the recommendations for memory configurations to make sure you buy the right type. Don't just rely on looking at the one you have now.
