A question about FPS?

however even with a clock speed of 350mhz you shouldnt be getting frame rates as low as 12fps
i think the main problem with the 7100gs lies with the cards bandwidth(4.8gb/sec),this is very slow,even the 7600gs has a 12.8gb/sec bandwidth,and the budget geforce 6200 even has twice as much at 8.4gb/sec
the bandwidth is basically the speed at which the card can access memory,Memory bandwidth is equal to the size of the memory bus multiplied by the speed at which the memory is clocked.
The higher the memory bandwidth, the better the card will be able to handle large textures and anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering. Not to say that you don't need a lot of memory bandwidth if you don't want to use these features, you still do. Memory bandwidth is important in nearly every part of graphics processing.
The amount and speed of the memory matter very little in comparison to the overall memory bandwidth. If you want a card with good memory, this number says it all
however the core clock speed is probally the main factor,the 7600gs has a core clock of 400mhz and the 7600gt has a core clock of 562mhz
also the 7100gs only has 4 pixel rendering pipelines,the less pipelines the slower the rendering will happen during games,which will obviously affect the games speed and thus its frame rates
The number of fragment pipelines has a direct correlation to the performance of a given card.
your best performance boost at the current time is to
1)lower your settings down,and aviod using any filtering
2)update your direct X runtime files from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...
3)update your nvidia forceware drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/dr...
4)finally if your card requires a power supply,for example a 6pin pci-express power connector,then make sure your p.s.u is powerful enough,even with a geforce 7100gs you should still be looking at a 500watt power supply,nothing less
theres a brilliant program called f.r.a.p.s avalible from http://www.fraps.com/,this will display your frames per second in any game,also it will take a snapshot of any game which can be sued in websites or to keep a best time for example

Your graphics card is beyond bottom of the barrel. It's a POS.
The 7600gt is considered the cheapest graphics card worth playing with (especially if you have a Dell/Compaq/etc. that only came with a 300-350watt power supply).

Your internet connection can also cause lag, but that really doesn't affect your frames per second.
u need a bigger video card 512mb of ddr3 video memory on board and a video clock of 500mhz
online it could be ur internet connections' speed or the servers speed ... as well as ur graphics being alittle on the weak side ...
Don't play on max settings, your graphics card is sub-par for modern day online games, and your processor probably is too. (You don't list the speed). Also turn down your display to 800 x 600
Heavy video game performance is impacted first by the video card second by the ram and third by the processor. I assume youre running XP so 2 gigs of ram is fine and the dual core D is doing its job well too. The card has to go. Its DDR2 with a 64bit memory bus that eats system ram trying to get the job done. Get a 512MB card with DDR3 and at least 128bit memory bus and your FPS woes will go away.
