8400m gs or 8600m gt?

There is a lot of difference between the 8400m gs and the 8600m gt. For one, the 8600 is much faster and more powerful and the nvidia hierarchy of performance goes like this.
GT cards are better than GS cards. And generally the higher the geforce number. The better the card. So the 8400m is just a GS and the 8600 is a GT of a later generation. And if you can wait or find the right laptop, you will be able to get the 8700m GT soon which is a bit better than the 8600m gt.
The 8600 is noticibally different to the 8400, and the price shows this clearly.
DirectX 10 games will only dominate the gaming world in a couple of years, and by then the graphics will be alot better that a 8400 will really struggle, and it can't play directX 10 games particularly well now.
If you think 8600 is a little too much, go for the 8500, its alot cheaper. And may be what your looking for.
