A charming storage device is one that uses media that have a thin ferris (magnetic) coating on it. Data is "written" to the medium by means of electrical impulse generated by the drive's read/write head. Some examples of magnetic medium would be floppy drives, hard drives and captivating tape used for finance up data.

An optical device is one that uses a laser grin to "burn" data to the medium. The media as a rule has an aluminum oxide coating that the laser "burns" the information to. Examples of optical devices are CD-ROM and DVD drives.

OK, an optical data is approaching a CD, captivating data is a intricate drive or a floppy disk. Optical disks last forever short losing data, but if they go and get scratched in the wrong place, it's useless. Magnetic notes will only ultimate for so long before degrading and becoming corrupt lacking being re-written to the disk. And eventually, the disk merely stops working.
