My CD burner is extremely slow, and burns at 16X. It is advertised at 48X.?
It has been this slow since i bought it. It takes well over 4 minutes to burn a full cd. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the CD drive to no avail. Thank you for your time.
Answers:
I think burning is always considerably slower than reading. For one thing, slower speeds produce fewer read errors. For another, the burner may well re-read what it's just written to see if it's readable. This would cut the speed in half right there.
Also, were those CD-R's rated at 48X for _burning_ or for reading? I thought disk speeds were always for reading.
Depends on what content you are burning and the program you are using. You're also using a Dell..that may be your problem right there.
Hi,
try install and using "Nero 7" and all your problems will go. Hope this helps you.
Another thing to check is the type of CD you are burning. Some brands will not burn that fast. A good quality CD burner can sense the burn speed of a CD and will burn at the max it thinks the CD can handle. Also check your settings that you select for burning. You should have several options, the top one may be the 48X but it may not automatically select that because of quality concerns.
U r reffering to the Read Speed here tats 48x
write speed must be 16x
the format to look for is 48x-16x
first comes read then write speed!
